Iaorana tatou! One week down in Mahaiatea and I'm loving it! I told Soeur Lu- the other day that I'm pretty sure this secteur is a dream. I mean it's not perfect, but our amis are progressing! Our Bishop and Ward Mission Leader are both involved! Our members are awesome! For example, being transferred into a new secteur I wanted to make sure that this time I worked well with the Bishop right from the start (not that my previous bishops aren't great too). In Preach My Gospel it talks about meeting the Bishop as soon as possible...

Iaorana tatou! Sorry, I don't have any time at all today BUT long story short I made it safely back to Tahiti and am in my new secteur, Mahaiatea, with my new adoptive daughter Soeur Lu-! She's awesome, she was born in Sudan, moved to Egypt and now lives in Nebraska. (North Africa connections woohoo!) I miss Uturoa already, Tahiti is too big and crowded compared to my calm little Raiatea, mais ce n'est pas grave. The members came and sang to me at the airport and I've got a gigantic pile of shell necklaces now (flowers for...

Iaorana tatou faahou! So Friday night, I was thinking back on the time that I've spent here on Raiatea. There have been high and lows, as always, and I've truly come to love my little town of Uturoa. Our members are wonderful and I've learned so much. Knowing that transfers are next week, I was wondering if Ive accomplished everything I was sent here to do, if I'd really left my mark on this secteur, or if the Lord would give me a bit more time. Just as I was sitting there thinking (and praying) about all this,...

Iaorana tatou! Not too much to say this week, but R was baptized on Saturday! he had some doubts a few days before but eventually decided to go through with it. We'll work hard now to help him stay active, despite a less than ideal family situation. But that was the highlight for the week! Just one other story to share: So last Thursday we had a lesson with D, and we shared our thoughts from Elder Renlund's talk last Sunday, about repentance. He talked about the joy that comes from the choice to repent, and I loved...

Iaorana tatou! Good news: my mosquito hunting skills are improving. I've probably killed at least 10 of them just sitting here reading emails. This transfer and Soeur M's training are going too fast! Only three weeks left. I hope I'll stay in Uturoa a bit longer though; I'm not ready to leave Raiatea! R is ready for hs baptism this Saturday! He still has trouble coming consistently to church, please pray for him! Mami R is so helplessly forgetful it's almost funny. You know when I said the other week that she was really surprised by some ideas...
